The other day Emily and I were discussing "if" the harvest gold counters could be replaced (they won't be, we were just dreaming a little), what would we replace them with? Most people would choose granite, but I don't care for granite. I like wood counters, but the (very well made and in excellent condition) cabinets are wood, so they stay. And double wood surfaces would be too much. Soapstone is beautiful too, but the darkness would not work against the cabinets. Oddly, we couldn't think of anything... funny how the harvest gold formica has grown on us.
We've long talked about writing a children's book called The Tao of Sukha. Spend five minutes with her and you'd understand.
The remainder of the morning. It was a good one. Happy to be getting outdoors for early walks again. Earlier in the week it was predicted that Thursday's temperature would reach 62°, now they're saying 65°. Every degree counts! There is talk of playing hookie.
Ahh... another space in the house complete. So much happens here each day, I needed it to feel just so... and it does. I really love walking in here and getting to work each day. There is one more shelf and some art to hang, but mostly it feels complete.
It is only March, but we found our first tag sale today! (Thank you Laura for the tip! The green velvet couch was gone.) It was a quick stop and no treasures were found but what fun to look. Now that I'm not selling vintage on Etsy anymore, I have to be mindful of what I purchase because I won't be passing it on... it isn't always easy to resist! I do miss my little vintage shop.
It really is something to look back on the day through photos.
