Heather, this is wonderful stuff! I'm so glad it's working well. And your leading her gently and extending her learning...I find that so interesting. Makes me calmer just to read this!!

You are truly inspirational in the way you teach.

I'm so excited to read more about your journey in homeschooling. Our little one is so young, but we know we want to homeschool. With the development of his personality right now, I'm getting nervous that I'll want to be with him that much...but he's not even two. I look forward to sharing awesome adventures with him too...like your hike!

Your photo's are wonderful! We also love to work in our nature journals. I love being outside with my kids watching them discover things. I mentioned in a comment above that we are also unschoolers (assuming from your blog title that you are as well) but have to confess that we are a bit eclectic as we use parts of some waldorf curiculum, and we do have some focused time every morning where we work on more "school-ish" things. However most of the day is relatively unstructured. Lovely blog you have!

I just now got to read through your homeschooling posts. Your family looks like you're enjoying the world very much...which for me is what it is always about. I'm glad my "advice" resonated a note within. Indeed it is true...learning happens for all time together when you are a closeknit homeschool family. This week Emma is off travelling overseas in Scotland! I haven't been writing since my back has healed...life has taken over again.
