Welcome! I'm Heather - keeper of the blog, dedicated yogi, yoga teacher, artist, homemaker, holistic nutrition coach, mother, and wife. Each day I seek to balance the necessities of life with a touch of humorous grace.
My hope for this blog has always been to share kind honesty, beauty, and simple guidance through a hectic world. I'm grateful to have you beside me here, as you find the time.
I don't blog about my entire life, I don't pretend to. If my husband and I have an argument, it won't be chronicled here. If my daughter is going through a period of more angst than grace, the details won't be found in these pages. That makes the positive that I do share no less authentic, it's just me keeping with a chosen approach that feels comfortable to me and my family.
Toward the end of 2011 I changed the way I blog. No longer do I pull together posts around a topic or tell a story based on a particular moment in the day. Now, my daily posts are simple, reminiscent of a daybook. They are mostly peaceful reflections of the day - many photos, a few words. This feels natural and sustainable to me right now. In many ways it is a quieter, softer place... which has been a wonderful, unexpected gift.
Regarding comments - The conversation in the comment section of a blog can be so wonderful. On rare occasion it can be unfriendly and negative, which usually doesn't offer anything constructive to the conversation or to the time my friendly readers spend here. I've decided to delete offensive, hurtful or negative comments (according to my sensibility) without discussion. This corner of the web is one I'm responsible for (both figuratively and financially), leaving toxic words here for the world to see and feel doesn't help any of us.
"No pessimist ever discovered the secrets of the stars, or sailed to an uncharted land, or opened a new heaven to the human spirit."

Email is wonderful - I LOVE to hear from you! I only wish I had the time to respond... sometimes I do, often I do not. If I could just find that extra hour or two in the day.

Curious about my blog's name?
So many people ask me about this... Beauty That Moves is a line from a song that I love. It's one of those songs that I could have written (you know, if I had the ability or talent to write a song).
