My mat hasn't been unrolled in two days and I feel it. Craving inversions, I'll take a few minutes this morning to satisfy the need. Normally I practice at night which allows me to prepare for bed then get on the mat to release the day. From there I can just crawl into bed for a long savasana followed by sweet slumber. My kind of bliss.
To help balance the void I was feeling after two days of no practice, a nourishing roasted butternut and apple soup was prepared and herbal tea enjoyed throughout the busy day - perfect remedies pulled from the medicine bag.
Today I feel restored, ready for the weekend, and grateful for a few morning inversions.

It's also helpful to realize that this very body that we have, that's sitting right here right now... with its aches and its pleasures... is exactly what we need to be fully human, fully awake, fully alive.
