I have tried 894 ways to write this post and it keeps coming out all wrong. So here it is... We went to New York recently and it was fantastic. Outrageously fantastic!
Except for the horses in Central Park. This makes no sense to me, or to my eleven year old. I glanced through my mentally archived parenting manual for the chapter that covered "how to tell your child why it is okay to strap a horse to a cart so humans can sit under velour blankets and ride around taking pictures of themselves and the scenery while traffic and people and bikes and noise that is noisier than noise all whiz by just a hoof's length away...."
I chose to defer to these words spoken by someone much wiser than myself...
"Always you have to contend with the stupidity of men." ~ Henry David Thoreau
Sometimes you just have to cut to the chase.
